Questions

Quantity surveying FAQs

What do you need from us to start a take-off?

A PDF drawing set (or CAD/BIM files), the specification if there is one, the scope or trades to measure, and your estimate template if you have one. We confirm price and turnaround before we start.

Do you measure to Australian standards?

Yes. We prepare bills of quantities to the Australian Standard Method of Measurement (ASMM) for Australian projects, organise US bids by CSI MasterFormat division, or follow your own template.

Which take-off software do you use?

Our quantity surveyors work in Bluebeam Revu and PlanSwift, with AutoCAD and Excel. If you use CostX, Cubit or On-Screen Takeoff, we can work in your licence through remote access.

How do you keep our drawings confidential?

We sign your NDA, work on company-managed laptops with multi-factor login, block USB storage, and delete project files when the job closes unless you ask us to keep them.

Can we try you before committing?

Yes. Start with a single paid take-off or estimate. Many clients move to a dedicated quantity surveyor once they have seen the quality of our work.
